Sciatic pain relief.

Q:
Age: 71   Sex: F   Concern: Chronic pain

Dear Dr, I am a Diabetic that suffers from Neuropothy. About 1 month ago I stated having pain in my lower right side. My Dr. thinks it is sciatic and 1 week ago he perscribed 900mg of Neurotin a day for the pain. It has not help at all, and I am miserable. Dr you know of any other treatment that will help sciatic pain. It is the worst in the morning right after I get out of bed, and would usually get better after I was up for awhile, but lately the pain is from morning to night. Please give me any helpfull advise that you can.

You may have diabetic amyotrophy, polyradiculopathy from spinal stenosis. Ask your doctors about this. EMG or MRI may be helpful to help elucidate the diagnosis.
