Lower back/Sciatic Nerve pain

Q:
Age: 52   Sex: F   Concern: Lower back/Sciatic Nerve pain

I was am currently undergoing chemotherapy for Breast Cancer and part of the protocal is Neupogen Injections for 7 days. I am on my second cucle. Since I have been receiving these injections my lower back across my buttocks and down my left leg have pain (it feels like it could be the sciatic nerve). The pain is most acute when I walk. I had left total hip replacement surgery in 1995. I have been told that the Neupogen Injections can cause lower back and pelvis pain. Any suggestions on what this may be and how I can treat the pain. Thanks.

A:
Probably the most important thing to rule out is metastatic spread of the tumor to your bone. If you have not had a bone scan or an MRI of your back, you may want to bring this up with your physicians.
