Is Sciatica possible so young?

Q:
Age: 23   Sex: M   Concern: Chronic pain

I have had severe pain in my right leg. it is a sharp pain in the buttock area, and when i sit with my legs extended (on my bed, or driving) my whole leg goes numb. I have had a cat scan done to check for a herniated disc, it revealed nothing. People at work tell me it is sciatica. I do alot of heavy lifting at work, and alot of running/exercise at the gym. I do stretch properly, but this pain causes me to limp out of work most days....

is there any hope for me?

A:
You might have piriformis syndrome. Ask you doctor about that. I would get an MRI as CT scan is not great at evaluating disc herniation.
