Is surgery the only option?

Q:

Age: 28 Sex: M Concern: Torn c6/c7 disc

Due to a work injury occuring on July 31st 2009, I have been recently diagnosed with a torn c6/c7 disc. I just need to know if surgery is my only option or is there something else I can do? I'm only 28yrs old and I really don't want to have neck surgery. Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you. JOSHUA

I would think that surgery is your last option. If you dont have spinal cord compression or nerve damage, try all alternative treatments and injection first. Alternatively you can try pain management program to learn how to cope with the pain.
