PAIN?!?!?!?

Q:
Age: 34   Sex: M   Concern: Spinal cord injury

I have had 2 MRI's and a CT Scan for hernaited disc @ L4-5 S1 regions. In report from Neuro Surgeon I seen he states " The MRI scan showed degeneration of the L4-5 disc with a herniation on the right side, which is in contact with the descending L5 nerve root. Surgical intervention is not recommended at this point. His main problem is the caused by the initial nerve injury rather than the persisting compression to the nerve root."

He goes on to say that " Clinically theis patient's condition has been slowly improving and the MRI did not show the severe Disc herniation."???? I am confused. In one statement he says there is herniation and impinged nerve and then he says there is no herniation? Am I dreaming?

I must tell you that I have been in constant pain since my injury and have been on so many different medications that I can't even remember. My feet are cold and are numb and tingly, I have pain running from my low back all the way to my toes. I suffer with spasms daily, and decreased mobility and level of activity is virtually very light to nothing at all.

Should I seek another opinion? Thanks

A:
Time for a second opinion. I would think the pain is from the disc herniation unless another etiology can be found.
