severe leg and hip pain

Age: 45   Sex: M   Concern: Chronic pain  

Dear Dr. for the last 6 to 8 weeks , i have been having severe leg and hip pain , 6 years ago i injured my lower at work and herniated 2 discs in my L4 to S1 areas of my spine , i got treated forthose , and up untill 8 weeks ago , i was doing okay , i do have arthrtis in my knees and back and hands , but that does not bother me like this pain is , the pain is in my left hip and goes down to my toes , my toes goes numb and here lately the pain is so severe in my thigh area in back and on the top bone area of my calf it brings me to my knees , i can't hardly walk aqnd my leg is so weak i can't barely hold my own weight on it and i am on my feet 10 hr shifts , i know what scadica pain is i had it before this does not feel like it is , i have has cat scan , mri's and soon a emg , ijust want to be pain free , can you tell me what is , i keep thinking bone cancer or , als or what? please reply, this pain is really killing me , i don't even eat right anymore , I am on many types of pain meds , and nothing works , Please reply Thank you

Probably due to the disc herniation. The EMG should help. Ask your doctor whether you are a candidate for an epidural injection.
