left arm numb?


Q:
Age: 45   Sex: M   Concern: Spinal cord injury  

last september i ruptured disc at L4-L5.i had surgery and last week my left arm started going numb like my legs. could it be i have disc failing at a higher level now? guess i need another mri? thank-you,

A:
It is unlikely that the disc herniation at L4-5 would cause numbness in the arm. Cervical disc protrustion would be more likely.
