could knee pain be caused by sciatic nerve?

Q:
Age: 30   Sex: M   Concern: knee pain and sciatica

i have had debilitating pain just under my right knee cap. i sustained no injury, i was just standing still and my knee felt funny, two days latter the pain was so intense i could not sit or stand. i've been to the hospital and got absolutely nowhere (i was given a prescription and knee brace but no explanation) i then experienced severe hip pain and went to a chiropractor who told me that both pains were caused by my sciatic nerve. he poped me and the pains have all but dissapated. my concern is that in my research, no one says anything about the sciatic nerve being the cause of frontal knee pain, only pain in the back of the knee. i just want to know if that could be the cause of my knee pain, or if i should be looking at other causes, i never want to feel that pain again! thanks

A:
Please see a spine specialist for an exam. If there is any doubts, get an MRI for the lumbar and knee. That should clarify things.
