Should I see a neurologist, or an orthopidist or pain management

Q:
Age: 66   Sex: M   Concern: Help deciding type of specialist I need

My family MD left it up to me to decide if I should see a neurologist or an orthopedic/spine specialist. I don't know what to do!

Xrays show that I have mild narrowing of the L4-L5, L5-S1. Also mild narrowing of the C5-C6 interspace with mild end plate spurring.

So, do I look for a neurologist or for an orthopedic/spine specialist? I'm confused and my doctor is of no help.

Thank you very much.

A:
I would see a spine specialist, either a Physical Medicine Rehab, aka, physiatrist, or an ortho with spine specialty. A neurologist is okay as welll but most neurologists do not specialize in disc/spine problem and they don't do interventional spine procedures.
