A:

IntraDiscal ElectroThermal procedure. A heat probe is introduced to the back portion of the disc to heat up the disc. The whole idea is to shrink the collagen wall of the disc to "seal" up a tear.

Strict selection criteria must be used otherwise it will not work. The procedure is exceedingly painful afterward.
