Burning & Pain From Upper Arms Thru Shoulders
I have been having burning pain in my upper arms and shoulders for several weeks. I went to my Dr. who did a cardiac work-up which was fine. The cardiologist I was sent to said it sounded like a cervical disk problem and sent me for a MRI of the Cervical Spine. The report says C2-3, C3-4 and C4-5 show no significant findings. At C5-6 there is a posterior broad-based disk spur protusion resulting in anterior CSF space coression and cord abutment and a mild amount of cord flattening. There is moderate bilateral uncovertebral joint hypertrophy at this level resulting in gilateral neural foraminal stenosis. At C6-7, a left parucentral disk-spur protusion results in mild left lateral recess stenosis, but no cord abutment. There is mild neural foraminal narrowing on the left at this level as well. The Impression states C5-6 broad-based disk-spur protusion and left paracentral disk-spur protusion at C6-7 as detailed. Is this what is causing by arm and shoulder pain? Does this usually mean surgery to correct Thanks for any advice. JAG
